VMU bands light up the folk music festival ‘Universitas Vilnensis’
The Vilnius University (VU) folk music ensemble ‘Jaunimėlis,’ together with the VU Culture Centre, organized the 14th meeting of folk art enthusiasts dedicated to folk music and dance.
The festival of folk music bands and ensembles, ‘Universitas Vilnensis,’ took place on April 13th and was graced by four ensembles from Vytautas Magnus University (VMU): the VMU Academy of Education song and dance ensemble ‘Šviesa’, the VMU folk dance group ‘Žilvitis’, the VMU Academy of Agriculture folk music band ‘Ūkininkas’, and the VMU Academy of Agriculture folk dance group ‘Sėja’.
This year’s festival also celebrated the 445th birthday of Vilnius University.
