A new dance group is being gathering from February 6th!

Also, Vytautas Magnus University Entertainment Dance Studio invites new members to join existing groups:
Salsa, bachata for couples (new members admission from February 5th): Wednesdays, 19:00 – 20:00 (Vytauto pr. 71-101, Kaunas)
Solo latino for women’s (new members admission from February 5th): Wednesdays, 20:00 – 21:00 (Vytauto pr. 71-101, Kaunas)

All classes are free of charge for VMU students, however registration on studentas.vdu.lt is required.
VMU Education Academy ensemble “Šviesa” participated in the concert of “Alma mater musicalis” event cycle
On 6st of January, the first concert of Vytautas Magnus University Education Academy song and dance ensemble “Šviesa” (art director dr. Jolanta Kisielytė-Sadauskienė, conductor Arvydas Jankus, choreographer Loreta Putvinskaitė-Vičienė, choreographer prof. dr. Vilius Tavoras) was held at Vilnius St. John’s Church. This concert “Su daina per jaunystę skrendam” is part of the 26th “Alma Mater musicalis” organized by the Lithuanian Musicians Support Foundation.
Various concerts and creative evenings are held on the first Monday of each month, from October to April.
Moments from VMU folk music festival “Linksminkimos”
On the 16-17 of November, the folk music festival “Linksminkimos” (organized by Lithuanian National Culture Center and Vytautas Magnus University) was held in Vilnius. This year, this singing and dancing student event was dedicated to commemorate International Student Day.
The festival was attended by more than 600 participants: all Lithuanian song and dance ensembles, folk music ensembles and guests from abroad.
VMU Chamber Orchestra performed at “GameOn Live”
On 15th of November, “GameOn Live” event took place at Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Center “Litexpo”. In this “GameOn Live” convention, VMU Chamber Orchestra took the virtual experience to the real world and performed tunes heard in computer games. “GameOn Live” featured soundtracks from games like: “League of Legends”, “RuneScape”, “God of War 4”.
More than a hundred performers created extraordinary experiences on stage. The show was produced by: Vytautas Magnus University Chamber Orchestra, wind and percussion groups, KTU academic choir “Jaunystė”, A. Kačanauskas Music School’s singing group “Dangi & D4” and various soloists.
“GameOn Live” with VMU Chamber Orchestra
On 15th of November, 2019, at the “GameOn Live” Convention of the Game Culture, VMU Chamber Orchestra will bring the virtual experience to the real world and perform the tunes heard hundreds of times in fantastic computer games. “GameOn Live” has soundtracks from many adventure and action-packed games: “League of Legends”, “RuneScape”, “God of War 4”.
Music in video games has long been one of the most important elements that not only sets the tone of the game, but also lets you delve into the deepest layers of fantasy. Now in its third year, “GameOn Live” offers a virtual experience to take to the real world and hear live music heard hundreds of times on the game world.
Over a hundred performers will create extraordinary experiences for the audience on stage. The combined forces of “GameOn Live” include the VMU Chamber Orchestra, wind and percussion groups, the KTU Academic Choir “Jaunystė” and the singing group “Dangi&D4” and soloists of the A. Kačanauskas Music School. The conductor of the project is talented Martynas Staškus. The project manager is Rita Bieliauskaitė.
This year, the organizers are inviting you to hear even more amazing creations not only from video games but also from the movie worlds.
“GameOn Live” will take place on 15th of November, at Litexpo Hall 3 (Laisvės Ave 5, Vilnius).

VMU students returned with victories from the Lithuanian Dance Championship
On 10th of November, the Lithuanian Dance Championship took place in Vilnius. Championship were held for all age groups: children, juniors, adults, seniors. Also, in all skill categories: medalists, solo, Pro/Am, open class.
Vytautas Magnus University representatives Lukas Gineika and Milda Šlepavičiūtė also participated in this championship. They took 1st place in the medal category for the standart dance and the 3rd place in the Latin American dance program.
VMU student Evelina, who appeared in Solo Latino category, won 2nd place.
VMU Solo latino team won first place in Lithuanian Dance Championship
On 10th of November, VMU Solo latino girls participated in the annual Lithuanian Dance Championship held in Vilnius.
The girls returned from the competition in a very uplifting mood – the dancers presented the show dance and took first place. The show was attended by: Vaiva Janulevičiūtė, Ieva Kiminaitė, Ema Bružaitė, Aistė Lukošiūtė, Judita Valančiūtė, Karolina Daučiūnaitė and Greta Gvildytė.
Also, three VMU Solo latino dancers (Ieva Kaminaitė, Vaiva Janulevičiūtė and Greta Gvildytė) participated at solo competitions in the Caribbean dance category. Vaiva Janulevičiūtė and Greta Gvildytė went to final and took prizes places: Vaiva won 5th place and Greta won 1st place.
VMU Agriculture Academy chapel “Ūkininkas” appeared at the village chapel festival “Grok, Jurgeli 2019”
On 9th of November, the village chapel festival “Grok, Jurgeli 2019” took place in Žalgiris Arena. Many folk music chapels, including Vytautas Magnus University Agriculture Academy folk music chapel “Ūkininkas”, appeared at this event.
VMU Education Academy song and dance ensemble “Šviesa” participated in the 90th anniversary of conductor Algirdas Vyžintas
On 25th of October, Vytautas Magnus University Education Academy song and dance ensemble “Šviesa” performed at Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater’s concert of professor, doctor of art sciences and former leader of the ensemble “Šviesa”.

On the 4th of October VMU Education Academy ensemble “Šviesa” (headmaster – Jolanta Kisielytė-Sadauskienė, choreographer – Loreta Putvinskaitė-Vičienė, chormaster – Vilius Tavoras, orchestra director – Arvydas Jankus) performed at the event “Teacher’s Voice”. The event was dedicated to commemorate International Teacher’s Day. The event took place at the Adomas Mickevičius public library in Vilnius.
