VMU Academic Choir “Vivere Cantus” Returned from Prague with Three Awards

Filled with unforgettable impressions, the Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) academic choir “Vivere Cantus” has returned from Prague, where it participated in the 36th International Choir Festival and Competition “Praga Cantat 2025.” This prestigious event brought together choirs from various European countries, and the Lithuanian ensemble’s performance received exceptionally high praise.

The choir brought home three awards to Lithuania:

  • In the Mixed Choirs category, the ensemble became a Silver Diploma laureate.
  • In the same category, competing against choirs from Slovenia, Germany, and Norway, the choir was also declared the category winner.

  • In addition, the ensemble received a special prize for its outstanding interpretation of Giedrius Venislovas’ composition “Teka, teka.”

The trip to Prague was not only a musical challenge but also an inspiring experience filled with new impressions, ideas, and the joy of togetherness. The success of the VMU academic choir “Vivere Cantus” in Prague is yet another testament that art and music unite, inspire, and promote Lithuania on the international stage.
