Final Concert of the Project “Let’s Create Europe Together” Brought Together the Art Center Ensembles and the Community

On the evening of November 21, the VMU Agriculture Academy Great Hall became a space of creativity and togetherness. It hosted the final concert of the project “Let’s Create Europe Together: an Inclusive, International and Creative Student Campus”—a joint performance by VMU Art Centre ensembles that served as the culmination of the entire initiative, bringing the whole community together.

The concert opened with a lively performance of “Pakol jauni” by the VMU Education Academy’s song and dance ensemble Šviesa”. Their youthful energy provided a perfect start to the evening and reminded everyone that creativity often springs from the simple joy of being together.

They were followed by the VMU Agriculture Academy theatre Jovaras”. The acting troupe presented a cohesive theatrical performance that combined several moods—without special effects, but filled with genuine emotion that quickly captured the audience’s attention.

Next, the stage was taken over by the VMU folk dance ensemble Žilvitis”, who performed two pieces: “Parbėg laivelis” and “Laiminguo, laimintuo”. The different tempos and choreographic nuances created a vivid and cheerful atmosphere.

This evening marked the conclusion of the year-long project, which featured creative workshops led by Dominykas Vaitiekūnas, joint ensemble gatherings, the social media campaign “Join Us!”, a concert dedicated to Europe Day, and many other activities encouraging students to engage in the university’s cultural life.

The concert continued with the VMU folklore ensemble Linago”, who filled the stage with a warm and authentic Lithuanian folk atmosphere. Aukštaitian songs, traditional dances, and live music naturally immersed the audience in the world of ethnic culture.

Afterwards, the VMU Agriculture Academy folk music band Ūkininkas” joined forces with the VMU Agriculture Academy folk dance ensemble Sėja. Their program—from the playful “Šeštinis” to the well-known “Mūsų dienos kaip šventė”—was warm, lively, and familiar to many listeners.

The evening also highlighted the recent achievements of the VMU academic choir Vivere Cantus”. Just a few weeks ago, the choir returned from the international choral competition Praga Cantat 2025 with three awards—including a silver diploma, a category winner title, and a special prize for their interpretation of “Teka, teka”. The choir then performed two pieces from their competition program—“Teka teka” and “Las olas de la mar”, both greeted with warm applause.

The concert concluded with a final performance by the VMU Education Academy’s song and dance ensemble Šviesa”. Their program—ranging from interpretations of Lithuanian folk songs to virtuosic birbynė pieces—served as a true festive finale, full of energy, smiles, and celebration.

After the official program, everyone was invited to a student party with a DJ. The evening was filled with dancing, laughter, and relaxed conversations—the kind of moments that often remain in memory the longest.

The final concert proved that the VMU Art Centre is a place where diverse cultures, ideas, creativity, and friendship meet. This project united different faculties, cities, and art forms into one shared idea.
