VMU Academic Choir “Vivere Cantus” at the concert of the 35th anniversary of the restoration of VMU
On April 25-26, 2024, Vytautas Magnus University will celebrate the 35th anniversary of its restoration: on April 26-28, 1989, the idea of restoring the University was launched. The re-established VMU became the first university in Lithuania to adopt the study model of Harvard University (USA) and the principles of Artes Liberales (liberal arts), emphasizing the freedom of students to choose, create their own timetable, and acquire a broad education, not limiting themselves to the subjects of their chosen specialty.
On April 26, the 35th anniversary of the re-establishment of VMU will be celebrated with two forums: The Idea of University in the Era of Transformations: What Role Is There for Liberal Arts Education? and Idea of Europe Forum.
On the eve of the events, on April 25, a concert will take place in the Great Hall of VMU (S. Daukanto St. 28), featuring the joint symphony orchestra of the VMU Chamber Orchestra and the students of the Academy of Music, as well as the VMU Academic Choir “Vivere Cantus.” The concert will start at 17:30.
